I’m about to give up on the Direct TV, which really bums me out. Here’s my predicament:
I have no line of site from my roof. The only area I’ve determined could have a line of site is a small area in the southwest corner of my lot. So, I got the equipment, setup a pole (got it plumb), put it all together and began testing.
I get no signal on satellite 101, signals in the 70s on 110 and signals in the low 90s on 119. I tried tweaking tilt, elevation and azimuth and that's the best I've been able to do.
So I moved the pole a few feet west (east isn’t an option) in hopes of getting a better signal. Now, the signals on satellites 110 and 119 are both in the low 80s. But on Satellite 101 there still is no signal of all the transponders, except on transponder 12. The signal jumps from 20 to 40 to 0. I this happens without touching it.
Now I have a feeling that something is still in the line of site. Are my tests an indication of that? Am I just not a candidate for Direct TV and I’m being too stubborn?
Advice would be much appreciated.
