I have setup galaxy 19 i took data from dishpointer and the elevation i was given was 38.6 for my location but i found the sat at 45 degree elevation is there something wrong here?? The house sits on a little hill would that make difference. I thought those numbers given are close to what you suppose sat it maybe +2 or -2 difference.

Any thoughts

Is the pole plumb (leveled)? If it is not then you have to add or subtract that number depending on the direction of the poles offset.

what dish?

Some dishes have been known to be off by up to 5 degrees on the elevation scale (Fortec's as example)

Well, When i first installed it was plumb but that could change maybe when i put the dish on the pole. So that can cause it interesting thanks.

Winegard 30"

on a winegard there is a red edge on the one side. Make sure to line it up with you elevation instead of the middle of the nut

My Winegard is set to 23 exactly which is what it should be

I used red egde on one side. I might have it leveled. When I try to plumb or level i use the top of pole and check that way. Maybe i am not checking or installing the intial setup properly from the start. When i used Super Sat Buddy the max is 25-40 depending the TP but i know i can get more out of it because by the time rg6 gets into the house the reciever show only like 10 quality. I think maybe whats preventing it the plumb.

There's no guarantee that the top of your pole is level. That would depend on how straight the cut is.

Use the side of the pole to check for plumb, on three different sides. Check at 12, 4, and 8 clock positions.
