Is it safe to give out CC# info on the Dish Network.com customer service chat ?

Because i was asking them about the Dish n up promotion and i qualify for free receiver & Installation and they said i need to give them a Credit Card # either through chat or phone.

The site has encryption, 64-bit for the chat application I would expect, not to exceed 128. Phone lines are generally more secure, but it's about as safe as giving your CC to any CSR.

I wouldn't worry about it so long as you're on the correct website.

It is very unlikely that someone could get your credit card number from that.
