Didn't you know that those can be bought?! Back in the late 90's there was an article in the Rocky Mountain News about Dish's Customer Service and that it was the worst in the country. Then a JDPA shows up. I thought WTF!! So I called and was able to talk to the person that authorized the award. You could do that back then. He said, "They didn't win it, they bought it!!"

So every time I see those flaunted, I think yeh, right.

I just phoned DISH to stop Starz and Showtime from renewing after the $5 special ends soon. A very nice CSR in WVa answered within 2 minutes and took care of my request.Can't beat that.

They fired a ton of customer service agents before I quit from all locations and closed down a few call centers. There are much less working for DISH now.

I called to get a deal because of the lost RSNs. They had a special # on their auto answer system for RSNs. It had a 15 minute delay. I hung up and called back and selected programming update and was connected immediately, I got a deal on the multi-sport package for $6.50(50%) for 6 months.

How do you get a 50% off deal on a multi sport pack that they technically don’t even provide because they are in a programming dispute ?

You do realize that the package includes a lot more than the RSNs don’t you? In fact what is still provided is considerably better than the RSNs, specifically if you like college football.

Multi-Sports is only worth it for two reasons. 1.) Red Zone. 2.) The original reason: Baseball season when games would go long (rain delay, extra innings, or long innings) so you catch the end of games. I got to see the end of pleanty of Mets games when Dish had SNY for these purposes. See New York, I don't hate your sports teams as a whole. I just hate the Yankees, Giants, and Jets. I love the Knicks, Mets, Rangers, and Islanders. I'm indifferent to the Nets. In fact, other than the Celtics, I'd watch a full Knicks game. The Knicks are my second basketball team, the same as the Cubs are my second baseball team.
