Dish Will Use Powerline Networking to Connect Receivers

Yup this is the Dishcomm technology I first showed you guys over a year ago. Besides connecting the receivers together so that only one receiver needs to be plugged into a phoneline. You will be able to listen to Sirius Radio anywhere in your house with a Dishcomm speaker kit.

Neat technology. :D

But as with any DISH technical inovation how many bugs will it have when will it reach the marketplace? Yes it is in the 942 but only 1 942 per customer so there is nothing for it to talk to even if the software is enabled. As Scott says it was introduce to dealers a year ago will it be 2 more years before it is working? AS cell phones and VOIP becomes more dominent how much market will there actually be for this product?

You don't think this is going into the MPEG-4 receivers (411, ...)?

I'm not sure what the bandwidth is on this PowerLine product, but there may be more to this than just ordering PPV or accessing your account in Dish Home.

Now, if we could just get all of the Sirius channels via Dish...

Sirius is really super! I thought I would NEVER pay for radio - then Sirius came in my new Chrysler with a free year included. I finally activated it and was quickly hooked!

I don't think we will ever see anything other than music INCLUDED with our Dish fees.

Now, it would be nice if they offered all the channels on your reciever if you subscribed to Sirius, or even better, there was a small upcharge on your Dish bill to get all the channels.

Either of those options would be nice! :yes
