Im using it alot now to easily search movies and times (easier than using rcvr IMHO) and set timers for my movie archive collection.

All I need to to be able to watch my recordings off the web site :D

But another props to dish (I figure I bitch about them enough)

You can watch them off the website. A slingbox integrates in very nicely. You just hit watch it starts it on the DVR and you're watching in the web browser. Very cool when you are on a PC you can't install software on. Slingbox's are cheap when you find them used.... I think paid like $50 shipped for mine.

I noticed the small "play" arrow after posting, but it tells me I need to switch to live mode.

This will be awesome when I travel. Can watch on laptop without any accessories. How fast of a connection is required?

Could not play program
You must return to Live mode to change program.

Thats what I get when I choose mydvr, recordings, click ice road truckers, and then play button

I use my laptop and use the Slingplayer application since I can install software on my laptop, I haven't used the dishonline to play any programs except when it first came out.

But no additional hardware is needed on your laptop, just an internet connection. I have 1024k upload at home but when I first got my slingbox I was only 512k upload which viewed SD fine. My slingbox is SD anyways. Ever since I got my Slingbox about 2 years ago most of that time I've been watching it on my phone, but ever once in a while I use it on my laptop.

Of course the 922 coming out will have the slingbox built into it...

Conflict, but not really

When I looked at it the other day it showed conflicts. When I looked at the schedule on the 722k there were no conflicts. Does it not understand that the 722k can record 4 things at once?

For me, it is great to add the one-off recording every now and then; like if I am out somewhere and want to record a game or something.

But I have some major gripes about it. It is not good for recording a series'; t consistently ignores my channel locks and tries to record channels in like the 900's, when I have those locked out. The result is a DVR full of "Locked Series".

The other gripe I have is that managing your recordings and timers is not all that easy; it takes like six clicks to delete a recording. Then they tried to be fancy with javascript crap opening on the top when you click *anything* and to me this is just a detraction. I shouldn't have to look and scroll down, then click something, then go back up to deal with it, then click OK, then click the little 'X', then look back down to where I was; except by that time, the list down there has refreshed, and I have to scroll back down. I believe the interface needs a major overhaul, with a focus on simplification.
