DISH Reaches Long Term Agreement with DISNEY / ESPN / ABC

  • Server Issues.

We are very aware that there have been system issues the past few days. In troubleshooting the system, it has been determined that the issue is at our provider and is hardware related. As of 12:05 PM ET our provider has moved us to a new server.

Things seem to be running better on this new server. However in trying to diagnose the issue (before finding out it was a hardware issue) we made some system changes which we need to undo. So if you find any issues or errors please let us know in the Operations Center Forum.

Thank you for your patience! Sorry for the issue!

Scott serious question...so the other channels are coming by fiber (is that something you can see them testing before they uplink it ???)...and I know we will get them "soon" ...longhorn and sec in time for football I'm sure. ..but any gut feeling on when the other channels or on demand and Internet access will be good to go ???

What else from the new contract are we waiting on ???

Your gut has been very good to us lately haha

Now that we have peace between Chucky and Mickey, this thread is near it's death!!!:eek::eek:

It is a little bit anti-climatic. The channels we are gaining (getting back?) aren't isn't giving us anything new, though it will definitely be nice to those that watch either the sport channels or ABC Fam / Disney channels. The access to the online content will be a bigger deal for many more.

The U will sure look nice come football season. On second thought,I bet there will be a few NIT bb games on this week.

From Scott's post in another thread:

“With the first round of the National Invitation Tournament on ESPNU tonight, college basketball fans will be able to see every jump shot and buzzer beater live on DISH in HD,” said Dave Shull, DISH executive vice president and chief commercial officer. “We know how much our customers value quality HD programming and we are pleased to be the leader in college sports.”

I would have liked even better if it had been turned on for all the conference championships last week. But at least we'll get a a few basketball games and then NCAA baseball the rest of the spring.

I doubt they have any widescreen SD channels because the 16:9 format is usually used exclusively for HD channels.

480p widescreen is part of the ATSC standard it's known as EDTV, hardly anybody uses it, but it would look much better than stretch-o-vision, pillarbox or letterboxed channels.

Yup they are on. :D

Even surprised me. I honestly wasn't expecting them until April 1st. But I guess DISh and Disney wanted them on for March Madness as its part of their new advertising campaign.

Women's march madness? Men are on CBS

EDIT: ahh forgot about the NIT....(Not In Tournament)
