DISH Reaches Long Term Agreement with DISNEY / ESPN / ABC

Well, my daughter shared her watch ESPN password with me so I don't really care at the moment, but it would be nice to be able to login under my own!

Yep, I use my mother in law's Comcast info to get WatchESPN but I should be able to use my own Dish account or hell even my Comcast Internet since I'm paying them nearly $80 for just net I should get it thru that or whatever! They need to give us these channels in HD that they took away AND ESPNU in HD soon before the price changes take effect.

WatchESPN is through tv provider, espn3 is through internet provider.

They are both the same thing now, you just get access if the "TV" provider allows you to. There is no internet provider that I know that grants access thru the account much like Comcast that I pay for their highest speed package yet I can't get it but now if I got their lowest tv package I could which is stupid.

You will get access to the espn3 content on watchespn thru Cox if you only have Cox internet.

I get ESPN3 access through my UVerse internet account, I don't get TV, just phone and internet.

I hope after the new year we hear some more info on progress of this deal. Dish has a great Hopper system and programming I enjoy. Having the rest of the Disney channels back up in HD would be a great thing.

I used to get this but no longer do. I actually called att on Thursday about this and they said that it is now toes to tv account. I am going back to comcast internet with their most basic tv so that I can get ESPN 3 again.

I have AT&T DSL and just checked and still get ESPN3 on the watch app.
When did yours stop?

That basic package has to have ESPN in it. Otherwise you still won't qualify. I had TWC's super basic which was about $12/mo and didn't have ESPN. Could not get ESN3.

I specifically asked this and they (comcast) claim that it doesn't matter. This is the the super basic package that has about 15 channels and is bundled with their internet to reduce the internet cost.

As far as when this stopped for uverse for me it was within the past month. It was working fine for college football season and then I went to watch a college basketball game last week and got the access denied message.

ESPN3 exclusive games are on WatchESPN and it through the internet provider. Games that are simulcast on ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU need a cable/satellite subscription that authorizes you to view them. This is true for everyone. If you aren't getting a game, but your internet provider gives you access, then it is probably one that is simulcast.

Was the game an ESPN3 exclusive or was it one also on one of the ESPN tv channels?

Not for ESPN3. I have my internet with Suddenlink and tv with Dish. Suddenlink authorizes ESPN3 exclusive games. They don't care if I have Dish or not.

.

It isn't comcrap that makes the decision, it's ESPN. If you don't have a subscription to ESPN, you can't get the internet access to ESPN3. It's just like HBO Go. You have to have HBO to get the internet feed.
The CSR was just telling you what you wanted to hear.

BS BS BS you only need a Comcast Login for ESPN cable channels ESPN3 is available for free on Comcast Internet

If you say so. I know that with TWC, when I had the super basic package that did not included ESPN, when I tried to access ESPN3 I was denied because I did not have a subscription.
Do you personally know anyone with the super basic that DOES NOT included ESPN who was able to add ESPN3?
