Dish Programming Changes (Effective August 1st)

I went to online chat and they changed me over to the new HD/Platinum add on, this is my Programming on the site now:

Current Programming:
Classic Gold 250

Local Channels:
Superstation Package, Atlanta, GA DMA Package

Premium Channels:
1 Yr Cinemax for a Penny with Autopay Participation, HBO

International or Ala Carte Add-ons:
HD & Platinum, Fox Sports South, SportSouth, DISH Home Protection Plan, DISH DVR Service


I cancelled yesterday, added today. Maybe I'm just lucky, but I've done the online chat thing too about four or five times, and it's miles easier than calling.
 
Just got the free platinum added to my account. I had the $10 HD only. I did have the 3 free months of platinum a few months ago.
 
No. Turbo subs will get a kick in the ass from a Teamster with a steel toe boot. This kick will be delivered to your home before August 5th. This is a free bonus for valued Turbo customers and there is no need to call!

I just saved myself $120 a year with Dish Network. :)

I canceled the HD package yesterday and just added it back... FREE PLATINUM HD. :)

Don't take no for an answer, but they are not giving the money away without a fight. (Except for the 3 months of Showtime and HBO that I already have at the end)

Jeremy Benson: You are penalizing me for actually purchasing another package and you are not penalizing those that didn't in the past.

Jeremy Benson: EVERYONE that has Gold HD will get Platinum HD, but those who have paid $10 extra a month will continue to pay it, but those who didn't won't have to pay it. That is penalizing us.

I am glad I took a little chance and canceled paltnium last night, not a huge deal but it made things pretty smooth when they were up and running and were able to add it back on. Its nice for now to save ten bucks and with AEP get quite a few HD channels, hope it stays ten bucks for a while.

I do see though that the website is still buggy, if you want to make any changes you get a programing error

Call back in and tell them you want to add the HD package. While they are adding it ask them if it includes the platinum page for free. They will say yes.

Thank them when they are done and now you are saving $120 a year. :)

Very good advice!!!!, you know now they have another marketing tool against other companies no "extra" HD packages...Though dont think they would use it though!
 
I'm afraid to rock the boat until I find out what dropping HD and adding HD+Platinum will do to my Gold Bonus Pack and other bundled discounts.

I logged into my account and got this message when I clicked on the "add/change programming" radio button:

Programming changes are not available through online support. To make programming changes please call 1-888-884-2741.

I wince at the idea of calling dish. It always seems to take a lot of time and life energy to educate the csr's about what's currently happening. Too bad they don't visit this site.;)

I went into online chat and was told Platinum HD is not available in HI.

Just made the changes on both of my accounts for my parents and me. Brad the online rep said I would still receive the $3.00 credit monthly for the WITH dvr pack like I did for dvr advantage pack. So this looks good. Gained 11 hd channels and still receive the $3.00 dvr credit and still receiving the monthly loyalty credits for $10.00 on both accounts. Good day to be with DISH.
 
I did the chat, and asked to "change my HD package". My idea is that the old packages are no longer available, so any package added today would have the Free Platinum. The first rep said that the new HD package was "unavailable". I had him check and he came back later and said he was sorry, but could not do it.

I disconnected, got a new rep, and this guy knew exactly what I was trying to do (Classic CS Rep Roulette !) In a few minutes, I was changed from the old "Dish Latino Max HD Ultimate" (which was $20 per month) to the new "Dish Latino Max HD & Platinum" (which is $10 per month). It took only a few minutes for my Online Account Programming to reflect the change.

The rep said no fees, but it takes 24 hours for billing to be reflected online, so I will check tomorrow to see whether he actually reversed the downgrade charge (if any).

So, do not argue with your rep if they do not understand, just politely disconnect and reconnect (be sure that the name of the rep is not the same the second time to ensure that you did not end up with the same guy).

PS Interestingly, the English Language Web Page about Dish Latino has the new changes, but the Spanish Language Web Pages have not changed at all, so clearly the Spanish speaking web guy does not work weekends. :D
