DISH Network Names Warren Schlichting Senior Vice President of Media Sales
ENGLEWOOD, Colo., Sept. 13, 2011 – DISH Network L.L.C. announced today that advertising veteran Warren Schlichting has joined DISH Network to lead its Media Sales division. Schlichting will be based in the New York office and will be responsible for all advertising sales and set-top data initiatives at DISH Network.
“Warren brings to DISH Network many years of experience, deep industry relationships and a vision for advanced and targeted advertising services that will be instrumental in increasing the value of our advertising inventory,” said Tom Cullen, executive vice president at DISH Network. “The DISH Media Sales team has a history of employing technology to address the evolving needs of agencies and clients, and we are pleased that Warren will be joining us to continue that momentum.”
Schlichting comes to DISH Network from Comcast, where he served in various advanced advertising and data-related positions during his 9-year tenure. As senior vice president of advanced advertising, Schlichting oversaw the development and launch of Comcast's online, VOD and interactive advertising products, and more recently, he was focused on efforts to take advantage of new network advertising opportunities brought about by the acquisition of NBCU.
Prior to his time at Comcast, Schlichting held several other leadership roles including chief executive officer at Hiwire, Inc., chief executive officer at Yucatan Foods LLC, and senior vice president at William E. Simon Group. Schlichting is a graduate of Harvard University and started his career as a financial analyst at Morgan Stanley & Co.
