DISH is having a banner week.

Well, the way this week has added up it seems that the MAJOR glitch was my decision to choose Dish over Direct. Or maybe I should just go back to my local cable company...I mean they rape you as well but at least they are blatant about it and don't sneak up on you and keep your hopes out on a string. I'm still pissed about the Dish 150 National HD lie from last year, much less the major price jump one month after NOT meeting that statement.
That's the beauty of "choice". TV is not a "right". Its a choice... of convince, for that matter. No one owes anyone to get TV you think you should get. You agree to what they offer or move on. Its your choice... it is written. AND... Another thing, Hope, wish lists and scuttle butt are not a contract. There is no such thing as a "promise", even the ones you make to yourself. Only mutual agreements are enforceable contracts....Maybe.

Bottom line is, they've got too many dang options that all have special conflicts with other options, you'd have to have degrees in law, marketing, finance and alchemy just to understand them all. The technical glitch is that there's probably too many "packages" now for the computer system to handle. I feel sorry for the first-line CSRs, with no degree in anything, that are trying to understand it.

If you have your RSNs, you are not back to Absolute - better watch your bill.

When I switched to Gold for about an hour they showed up. When Dish switched me back, they stayed. The account showed with Gold and rsn listed.

Now I am back at absolute and my account shows no rsn.

They are in my guide.

Hate to tell you but DirecTV promised 150 channels over 2 years ago and they are still not on yet. And Dish is not the only one to raise prices, DirecTV's are going up March 14th.

Well, I also have my right to be pissed for bad business practices. I don't go through my daily life making statements of things I have plans do do and then when I don't follow through going along my way with a smile on my face.

I'm just making my statement that they are not being up front and proper with their customers if another comapny has done or plans to do the same in the future does not make it right.

Ouch...lotta hostility.

You know, I've been a DISH apologist for years. When you've lost me, you've lost a good chunk of your loyalists.

Heck, most of these problems don't even affect me. I'm just disgusted that they took a week that we had all been looking forward to...the premiere of Ciel-2...and completely botched so many things.

Guys,

I want to lay down a rational opinion, don't be mad at Scott or anyone in this forum. You should be mad with the talking heads at Dish, they pass along this information to get people like us excited about their product. They hope we get so excited that we tell friends who will get excited and subscribe as well. Then they will disappoint everyone on a equal disappointment level.

The point is that Charlie and his cronies have done this for years, no need to take out your frustrations on people who work hard to give you something to talk about. I personally think the SatGuys staff does a great job at keeping us informed and you should probably think before you type your feelings. Especially when they involve banishment from a forum of all places. If you don't like Dish's service and lies, do what I did and leave. It's not that hard, tell them that you're not taking their s*#% anymore and you are leaving. That simple, no hard feelings, and enjoy your new service and leave Scott out of this.

I am a mlb fanatic and want this new mlb-hd channel. I understand dish is not into adding sport packs but I have been with dish a long time and like their equipment better. That being said is their any chance dish "may" add this channel? If not I will have to switch to get it. I just need to get some solid info before spring training so I can make the switch if needed. Thanks!

I like this post. If you're not happy with Dish Network the only way they will understand that customers are not happy is by switching to another provider. Hit them where it hurts!

+1 :up

We really are not supposed to know all this info we get on the forum. We are supposed to just watch tv and if some new channel happens to show up, cool, and if something disappears, oh well I still got something else to watch.

:)

I think he was referring to this post:
ihave been reading all this crap for the last several years. bottom line. scott is good at one thing. rumors. bottom line, that's all they are. i don't care if i get kicked off the forum. i'm sick and tired of scott and all these other idiots thinking they know what they are talking about. when really, all they have is misinformation. i went with dish hd turbo gold and guess what. i pay more for half as many channels. the promise that new channels coming to hd turbo. now that isn't happening. how do we know dish won't do this with the other channels(comedy central, spike, bet, fx, speed,etc...

Well, to be fair, Charlie never promised additional national HD at any particular point. He mentioned they were planning to add more HD in the future. Whatever the reason is that you (and me and others) got our hopes up, it wasn't because Charlie made any promises.

You can blame him for many things but not this.

Poor Charlie, everyone picks on him. :)

Maybe, but he did insinuate that Ciel was holding up something. Additionally, one of his cohorts, upon announcing the price increases in December said that he would "make them worth it."

Up for interpretation? Sure.

Is the Turbo Gold price increase worth it? Certainly not yet.

The implication was that we would get something in return for the increased prices. The most recent chat suggested instead that we were simply always underpaying, and now we are at the right level for what we have. Which is it?

In your judgment, what was the main reason for all the anticipation around here the beginning of this week? Do you really think it was Charlie's insinuations?

Please understand that I'm the last one to be accused of being a Charlie apologist; I just think we continue to ignore history and are therefore doomed to repeat it. No matter how many times our hopes are beaten to a froth and then dashed we continue to come up with reasons why the next time will be different.

Do some Turbo subs really have it already? I haven't found one yet. Everyone I asked has been confused, because they have gold hd with some classic pack, not turbo.

I have TurboHD Silver, and only TurboHD Silver. I switched from Classic Silver with the HD add-on on Monday evening, before anyone could see Fox News HD. My account online clearly says TurboHD Silver, and I have no additional SD channels available except the free previews, my locals.

I have had, and continue to have, Fox News HD since sometime Tuesday morning. Whether I am proof that this is a glitch and that TurboHD customers should have Fox News HD, or for some reason have something I shouldn't have, I really don't know at this point. My opinion on that has changed several times in the last 24 hours or so, now leaning toward the former, since it hasn't gone away yet.
