Dish Installer took 1000.2

i couldnt help but notice, you through used the ajective "brand new" for the house. would you not have bothered to use a dpp44 if the house was not new? whether or not a customer is in a new house or a 30 year old trailer, they still pay the same for services, and should be treated the same.
True to a point, however, it is much easier to run two cables from a DP34 switch in a house that doesn't have vaulted ceilings, is not a slab, and actually has fishable walls. New houses are simply not designed for running more cables. Almost anything more than 10 years (and most definitely any trailer) I can get two cables where they need to be. Anything new around here, it's wrap or nothing, and you better believe that after paying 200 - 650 thousand, no one (in their right mind) will let you drill straight through their walls, and wrap the cabe around the outside. And furthermore, I only agree with you to a point. I'm not going to spend the extra time to wall fish a cable on a house that I can just run it between the floor boards and the wall in a crack that has formed because the floor is falling out. If a cust doesn't care about his/her home, why should I? (Along the same lines, I have spent significant time making installs on old houses that are well cared for look as good as the house).

So how many 44 switches have you installed in 30 year old trailers ??? How many have you installed total ???

Maybe he is just using the term because the house is NEW and has never had wiring run to certain locations.

They may have removed the 1000.2 because if they just connected the 61.5 wing dish to the internal switch, the receiver would still use 129 as the primary source for HD. I don't think there is a way to disable the 129 LNB on a 1000.2, other than covering it with aluminum foil. (Which is what I did). It would be nice if the receiver could figure out to use the strongest source and only use 129 when 61.5 is covered by a storm cloud.

Yeah I'm sure this is why he removed the dish - thanks everyone for your insight!

Don't I wish. I get less flack for using a DPP44 switch than a DPP33 switch. I had a 500+ install on 2 dual tuners in a brand new house, and got chewed for having a DPP33 ADDED TO MY WORK ORDER!! Because we're not supposed to call and ask for that. "If we need it, it will be on our work order" We can't even carry a spare, in order to get one from warehouse we have to attach a copy of the work order calling for it.

Hell's bells, the DPP 33 switch should have been put on the work order to begin with it being a 500+ install with dual tuners.

You gotta love Dish: They make a big deal and say to the world "Hey, look at our brand new best thing ever made, gorgeous, sparkling, kick-ass DPP 33 switch. Woo-hoo!!"

Then they look at their techs and say "Don't even think about it."
