Dish install. No PTAT and no locals in HD

I'm having dish installed right now and the guy tells me that PTAT doesn't work in Lubbock Texas and that I can't get locals in HD. Anyone have this happen to them in your town ? Anyone have any idea when PTAT will work here in Lubbock or when or if I'll get Locals in HD ?

Completely correct, if Dish does not supply HD locals, or your setup does not receive the HD locals, PTAT will not work.

That sucks. I cancelled the install for now. The guy was already installing the dish on the roof and it's pretty hot today. But he was real nice about it. Gave him some water and a tip and told him to call me when we get locals in HD here. He was cool with it. Do for now I'll keep uverse and wait.

Several in Lubbock have "moved" to the Dallas DMA to get HD locals via Dish.

This requires at least a dish pointed at 61.5 or even an eastern arc setup.

This would all have to be done by yourself or someone you know, since it is a questionable practice (violates the terms of service).

This is the reason I have not considered the H/J living here in Lubbock.

That all sounds too complicated to me so I'll just have to wait till Lubbock gets HD locals. Nice to see a fellow Lubbockite in here. Wreck em tech !

I checked your area, in Lubbock you get IND KPTB standard def the rest are in HD:: FOX KJTV, ABC KAMC, NBC KCBD, CBS KLBK, PBS KTXT, and CW KLCW all in HD with Direct.
