It has been said that two Hoppers will work together so you can use all six tuners from any TV. I love the possibilities.

Part of one of the input feeds get stacked to a 3rd band above regular DishPro stacking. The reps I asked didn't know the actual range.
Yes they will be able to watch from both Hoppers, infact I am told it is quite seamless.
(Although I did not see it in action)
I think that answers all questions. I will for sure switch back to dish once the OTA tuner is out (I have 17 locals counting sub channels and Dish only carries 7 on the sat)
Just hope they let me lease Two Hoppers and I dont have to buy the 2nd one. I could see them charging and extra $99 to $199 for a 2nd Hopper and $59 for the extra OTA turner. That would seem about right compare to the other guys.

Each Hopper can have 3 Joeys so two Hoppers and six Joeys will fit nicely the in the eight channel MoCA distribution Dish has implemented. Assuming the two MoCA outputs in the Duo switch are bridged, six Joeys and Ethernet would use up seven channels leaving one for Hopper to Hopper use. Just speculating on system architecture, would love more info.

If I were to go with the twin Hopper/four Joey architecture connecting to my existing DPP44 switch, would the power inserter be able to share one of the three input coaxes to the Duo Node or would it need to be standalone coax going to port one on the DPP44?

Scott - Can you also ask them about the expanded HBO On Demand programming that was announced in a recent press release? It would be nice to know when it will begin, and just how "expanded" it will be.
I can see it now: Skip fwd and skip back work perfectly on the Hopper, but are never fixed on the ViP722x units. BBMP and manual timers work perfectly on the Hopper, but never seem to get fully implemented on the ViP922. Each day that passes, more and more customers say the heck with it, and the percentage of XiP installs grows. Then the XiP Next comes out, sans HDD and DVR functions, for the non-DVR customer. But it allows for the later addition of DVR functions thru the addition of an EHD and some coin of the realm. Ahhh, sounds like a business plan to me!

Looks to be they want everyone to switch to the Hopper and I don't blame them.
Think about it: If the 722 interface is slow, imagine how much slower the Hopper interface would be on the 722...the processor speed on the ViP series isn't going to magically increase.
I just thought of another scenario. A lot of times when watching sports I have my main TV connected as normal and then I use the TV2 output to a TV right next it. Sounds crazy but I like having two TVs next to eachother with different games on. With the Hopper it seems the only way I could do this is if I have another cable coming from the splitter to a Joey next to my second TV. It's doable but it's so easy with a dual tuner now.

That's a good point. I don't know why they'd do it now. If people really want the features the Hopper has you just need to upgrade to it.
It's jerky at best and the skip time is unpredictable, particularly when skipping backward. I've had it erroneously skip all the way back to the beginning of the show, both on my 722, and my 612. We're talking 20 minutes, not tens of seconds.
Yep. Might skip back barely at all, or function "normally" then repeated presses send you WAY back, even to the beginning as stated. Multiple quick skip back presses are almost guaranteed to cause grief. Pauses between each press seems to help, but certainly not eliminate the problem. I'd certainly want to hear this problem fixed before moving to the Hopper.
Same here on my 722k. I think all this started when the Tivo lawsuit forced DISH to alter the software to remove the offending functions that were too much like Tivo. Now that the lawsuit has been settled , I don't understand why DISH doesn't just add the Tivo functions back. They already paid for the software , why not use it?
Hmmm. My 722k appears to skip forward/back correctly. It also fast forwards and rewinds correctly. I don't have that "slow guide" thing a bunch of people are talking about either.
