But ptat is offIt is, except when you record something to a non PTAT channel in non PTAT hours. So, in non PTAT hours you still have access to all three tuners.

It only took me about 30 minutesIf I remember reading correctly this update takes a few hours once the download has started? I would like to try it but I definitely don't want to be without tv all afternoon after I get home from work. I assume this is something I could start before I leave for work in the morning and it should be complete by the time I get home?
I understand that but I'm saying regardless tuner is only connecting to the locals and is staying tuned to the 4 locals 24/7 regardless of watching or recording them.Even with PTAT turned off, if you tune to one of the big four networks you will see one tuner assigned to them. You can record 4 programs, one from each network, and still only use one tuner outside of PTAT hours.
Try this: Record two channels, Non big 4, at the same time. Now, while they are recording punch in another non big 4 channel on your remote. You should immediately go to that channel and still be recording the other two programs. Don't get hung up on what you see on activity.I understand that but I'm saying regardless tuner is only connecting to the locals and is staying tuned to the 4 locals 24/7 regardless of watching or recording them.
I tried that, it at first told me it would conflict but then it changed and once the recordings finished it moved me to a different tuner and put 3 back on the big 4Try this: Record two channels, Non big 4, at the same time. Thats what I'm thinking. It'll probably work itself outThat definitely sounds like a bug.
So has anyone downloaded this and regretted it? I keep saying I'm going to do it and then I talk myself out of it. Just worried about bugs.

Only if you have an OTA adapter. There are 16 satellite tuners in the H3. One of those tuners records the 4 networks, the other 15 whatever you want to record. That's 19 programs. So, in theory, you can record 20 programs, instead of 16.
Agreed, I like it for the most part, m tuner 3 issue went away on its own one day. Other then a few random reboots the carbon ui has worked well for meIt is nice and pretty but the issues with timers disappearing and not prioritizing properly are very frustrating. Most of the time I am happy to have it early but not always.
