DISH Hopper Carbon UI Testing Forum - PLEASE READ!

I really didn't notice much difference with performance but maybe someone who is currently using Carbon with the HWS & Joey(s) could speak better on the subject.
Thanks for the input I think I'll do the update today then. I'm excited for the new ui. When I switched from fios to the hopper the only thing I missed about fios was I thought the ui on fios looked much nicer and carbon ui seems to take care of that

There's no going back once you switch but that will be a non-issue soon I guess. as it sounds like all newer Hoppers will have Carbon.

Good luck!

I have a Joey 1 and other than the DVR menu, I can't I've noticed any slowdown.

Now, it does take up to 10 seconds for that menu to load. It's too bad it doesn't do a progressive load here. As it is, you get the small line of blocks indicating that it's loading and then it all appears at once. Anything that requires a refresh of that screen is slow too, for instance, if you delete an event.

Only issue I've ran into is tuner 3 stays on the locals thru the satellite as if ptat is running all the time.
It is, except when you record something to a non PTAT channel in non PTAT hours. So, in non PTAT hours you still have access to all three tuners.
