I got the following in the Morning Bridge newsletter today.

Headlines for Wednesday, January 5, 2011: DISH, DIRECTV, Charter, AT&T Among the "Most Hated" took a bath in public perception polls for 2010. In fact, four of the biggest earned spots among 27/7WallSt.com's "15 Most Hated American Companies of 2010." Based on an array of research and rankings – including that from Consumer Reports, JD Power and others – the report highlighted (in no particular order): • DISH's low marks from the MSN/Zogby consumer service poll. The DBS No. 2 earned "poor" service ratings from 31.2% of those familiar with its service. (Meanwhile, CEO Charlie Ergen got a low 22% approval ranking among surveyed employees.) • Despite undeniable improvements (could it have been worse?) Charter Communications got the lowest score of any ranked company in the 2010 American Customer Satisfaction Index. • AT&T was dissed for poor 3G service plus it got Consumer Reports' nod as the nation's worst cellphone service provider; and • DIRECTV also ranked poorly in the American Customer Satisfaction Index, falling by 4.2% year over year to a score of 68.

In The Courts: A New York appeals court says EchoStar must pay interest to Disney networks for late payments. The suit includes high-def versions of the Disney Channel, Toon Disney, SOAPNet, ABC Family and the ESPN group of sports channels.

Thinking of switching from E*
