Dish and Vonnage

I was told by Dish Network that Vonnage would not work with the service.
Anyone have any experience using Vonnage or any VoIP service with Dish.

TiVo told me the same thing, but I was able to use my Series 1 hardware to update my guide using Cablevision's Optimum Voice VoIP service.

My understanding is Vonnage and Cablevision are the same thing -- voice over Internet. Not going out over traditional copper land lines.

Are you asking about just the receiver calling in to update purchases? Because that's the only thing that VOIP could interfere with. It will not interfere with your Dish Network service, including its guide data or anything else. I've heard other people with Vonage have not had any problems with the receiver modems.

But in the event there is any incompatibility, you'll simply be charged the $5 (rounded) phone line penalty. If you have a dual tuner receiver. Or something, I'm tired of keeping all their $4.98, $4.99, $5 fee rules straight in my head...

I have a 522 and a 322. I also have Vonage and have not had any problems with the phone connection or PPV.
