Dish AD programmed on my 722

I can't believe anyone would actually pick up the phone and call Dish over something like this.

No kidding. I see black helicopters, and even I didn't pick up the phone! :)

When I was on the phone with E* they said it should not recorded on my recordings, but it should of downloaded in movies & more or Tv Entertainment where most of their recordings go to. Like I said Engineers at E*, I could hear the guy say they messed up and their getting alot of complaints. I was told it will never happen but who knows right?

Well, they have made these recordings before in the past, so I'm not so sure about the "never happen again". But I actually enjoy some of these short videos, but I do think that they do belong over in the VOD area and not in My Recordings.

Based on this site, I checked both my dvrs last night and sure enough it was set to record on both. I deleted the timers (should've skipped them) but the damn thing recorded anyway on my 722. Haven't checked the other one but I'd bet it's on there as well.

Well this explains why Ch. 101 was on when I turned on my 622 this morning. Looks like I'll have a quick delete to do when I get home.

Or you could spend 4 minutes and learn something about a pretty cool device.

I know that but it sucks You buy ur Equipment and yet they can still DO what they want. Still it is funny how many people got Upset and called E* today cause of that.

My guess is you didn't purchase your equipment but instead lease it from E*.

I can't believe that anyone would actually look up the 'rule' and reprint it here, when the point is we are being force-fed recordings. Point is the vastly unequal bargaining power between Dish and customers due to monopoly, resulting in a highly one-sided contract. This has become common these days, but that does not make it right.

It was one four minute ad for a product that a lot of us might actually enjoy. Get over it!

Some folks need to straighten out their priorities. Sad, is the amount of emotion and time spent over NOTHING!

And yet time is being spent on comments which belong in a Psychology Today forum, instead of commenting on the merrits of the what is obviously an intrusion into my viewing pleasure. :)

Get over telling us to get over it.

jajaja, thankd for the good time, I have something to make my morning. I CANNOT believe how upset some people get over this kind of thing, you know, there is always the other satellite provider, I am sure they never do anything like this. No wonder this country is going the way is going, if this is what we get angry about...

I guess your retarded! Who does not know about slingbox nowa days? Plus a whole 4 min did not explain it clear enough what it does. I bet now More people are like what is slingbox and have more stupid questions about it.

Who said anything about bein angry? I find it amusing askin questions and wonder why E8 can add it to my recordings and not to my VOD area or even a commercial area for this kinda stuff if that happened I would watch more commerical at my own time.

Why shouldn't I or anyone else ? The "point" is, Dish's customers have agreed that it's okay for Dish to do this. People need to read the agreements they sign and accept all conditions of it. Don't like it ? People do have an option.

Oooh, "monopoly". That's a strong-sounding word isn't it ? Too bad it's 100% inaccurate in this scenario.

Someone complained about the ad taking away recording space. This isn't true. In the past, dish has used a section of the disc that they reserved for this sort of stuff, and it was never available to you.

To the people complaining, you should look at Comcast's daily mail on boxing events and the short video messages they constantly download to my box.
