dish _sling for i pad

I have recently purchased a EEEpad asus i pad. I would like to link it with dish sling. The app for sling is on my Ipad, when I try to make it work, I get a message that my receiver is not hooked to the internet. I have a model 622 DVR. Will the 622 work with the sling or do I have to get a newer model receiver? Would appreciate if any one can help me.!

What "dish sling" are you referring to? The Sling Adapter will not work on a 622.

Do you know what model i would need. ALSO will i need a adaptor from dish

The Sling Adapter from Dish works only with the 722, 722k, and Hopper. (One is built-in on the 922.) Client apps are free.

You can still buy standalone Slingboxes which might be a better fit. The Slingbox will work with just about any A/V source, including your 622. But so far as I know, the client apps are not free.
