Dish 301 and cable Tivo

Ok. I haven't did a search of this but here goes. I recently ditched my Dish Network DVR due to local channels being moved to a satellite I can not receive.

I have a Tivo thru my local cable company. I also have a Dish Network DP301 receiver. Is there any way to record from the 301 to the Tivo. It is just 1 channel I'd like to record and I would just leave the 301 on and tuned to the correct channel.

Will the Tivo record from another source other than from the cable? Is the question I have. If so how can I do it?

I don't know what tivo you have from cable, but I know stand-alone tivos can record from a 301 and cable no problem. The tivo's I have seen have auxilliary inputs on them (RCA and svideo inputs) for external video sources.

You can even use the IR blasters to change channels on the 301.
