DISH 2016 CES Press Event

Why multiple Hoppers, if you don't have many TVs? I suppose if one goes down due to failure, doesn't bring your household viewing to a screeching halt.

If you have to use the new Hybrid LNBF, I guess I'll have to swap back to the 1000.2 dish and get rid of my 3 dish rain fade buster setup. I hope it will work with regular DP LNBFs and DPP switches, but I doubt it.

Where is Harsh, I want him to admit he was wrong that the new LNB wouldn't support more then 3 tuners per Coax.
And Moca wouldn't be able to handle such.
Looks like 16 Tuners will work to me.

I believe EATING OF THE CROW is in order.!!

Even if they do allow multiple Hoppers, I'd be shocked if they let anyone have two H3s. I wonder if the system could even handle 32 tuners at one time. Of course, several didn't think 16 was possible either.

Things I am waiting to hear:

  • What's the cost (yes, I know he said no upgrade cost for well qualified, but what about hidden fees, etc)
  • Will the OTA dongle from H1/H2 work, or will H3 have its own, or no OTA?
  • Is anything being done about the Joeys? The performance on them is horribly slow, to the point that I'm about to get rid of mine and just use a FireTV in that room for the rare occasion I watch it anyway.

hey guys does that mean people who have the hopper with sling will get carbon ui this month i am planning on upgrading to the hopper 3 this month.sounds great who knows i can use youtube when i want to watch bluegrass videos.

I want to see wiring diagrams. Currently have 2- 722Ks and a 211K (that I use in RV in summer). All running off DPP 44 switch. I would go with Hopper 3 & Joey but must have 211K on account also. Don't know if 211K will work with new LNBF/switches IF they are required....
