DIRECTV's free iPhone App will be Public March 30th

This just in from Directv:

DIRECTV's DVR Scheduler will be available on the Apple App Store tonight just after midnight.

We just posted the preview demo video at our DIRECTV Fan page on Facebook>

As you many of you know the features already and that its supported by iPhone or iPod touch..
The DIRECTV DVR Scheduler app will be available for free from Apple’s App Store on iPhone and iPod touch or at www.itunes.com/appstore/.

Interesting fact: Nearly 5-million recordings have been set on home DVRs to date using DIRECTV's DVR Scheduler. Future versions of the application will offer DIRECTV VOD search and remote record, content recommendations and ratings, and streaming of show and movie trailers .

You can do that already with Slingplayer and a slingbox. Works great on my BB Bold.

This is awesome. It's DirecTV's ability to embrace available technology that made my switch from Comcast well worth it. I highly doubt Comcast would ever give their consumers this much control and access.

I am starting to think about getting me an iPhone. When it comes to technology, phones were always the one thing I could care less about. I hate talking on them and I am not a texter.

It would be really nice if you could use this app as a Remote Control for your DVR for when you loose the remote control inside the couch. Also watching your recorded shows would be cool, like the Directv2PC. It would also be cool to see what is actually on your to-do list and whats on your playlist also.
