But they won't..only 2 million want it now
2 million... of the 14m subscribers DirecTV has.
But they won't..only 2 million want it now
And only 10-11 Million out of 123 Million want DirecTV, what is your point. But they won't..only 2 million want it now
Just looked it up, 3.5 Million as of 2020, and Baseball is not even close to the popularity of the NFL.What are the numbers for Extra Innings, everyone has access to it. Sure it's not ST but it's widely available.
DirecTV Satellite does not have 14 Million, that number includes Uverse ( estimation at still over 2 million subs) and the Streaming Services.2 million... of the 14m subscribers DirecTV has.
Baseball costs $100... you can get it mid season at 1/2 price...football has 18 sundays vs thousands of baseball games for a third the priceAnd only 10-11 Million out of 123 Million want DirecTV, what is your point.
None of us know how many will subscribe when it is opened up to everyone, I think it might be closer to 5% of 123 Million Households, which is still 6 Million, times $300, is $1.8 Billion, then revenue from Busineses ( Bars, Restaurants, Casinos, etc) and Advertising could still make it profitable.

Don asked, I answered, and if I remembered correctly, do they not discount NFLST midway thru the season?Baseball costs $100... you can get it mid season at 1/2 price...football has 18 sundays vs thousands of baseball games for a third the price
They give it away free before the season starts to good customers and they still only get 2 million subsDon asked, I answered, and if I remembered correctly, do they not discount NFLST midway thru the season?
You really can't go by Extra Innings because, there are various versions out there available, where as there isn't other widely available ST packages. What are the numbers for Extra Innings, everyone has access to it. Sure it's not ST but it's widely available.
I'm not looking at Money ....Never said that.
If 10% of 123 million Households get ST, that is basically 12 million, times $300 is $3.6 Billion Dollars, then it is a success, glad you are seeing things my way .
Just in general, how many people subscribe to some form of Extra Innings. You really can't go by Extra Innings because, there are various versions out there available, where as there isn't other widely available ST packages.
No clueJust in general, how many people subscribe to some form of Extra Innings.
Was that Extra Innings or MLB.TV .....And only 10-11 Million out of 123 Million want DirecTV, what is your point.

MLB.TV since it is streaming-Was that Extra Innings or MLB.TV .....
I saw an article with numbers similar to that, and then it mentioned Streaming.
Except that is about TWICE the number of people who watch the regular "free" game at 4:25 each Sunday.Never said that.

It is unavailable to those who do not want DirecTV ( which is over 110 million Households). The idea, once again, is not that, somehow, ST is "unavailable" to anyone is simply wrong.
No truth to that. And, well, it looks like DirecTV will sub-contract with the winner for at least the commercail distribution rights, as streaming is really not ready for prime time there, and perhaps for general reseller rights to its luxury home customers. Great news.
This-But no, there are not going to be more subscribers to ST, than currenlty watch "free" games on regular TV.
Worst part of going to college in NYC. The Jets at 1 or 4 and Giants on the other time. 😡The Giants have sucked, I would rather watch better out of market teams.
Why would they if their team was on free tv?It is unavailable to those who do not want DirecTV ( which is over 110 million Households).
To get NFLST, you have to agree to a two year contract with DirecTV, that is a $2735.76 commitment ( used choice with 3 boxes), that is a big ask, specially today when people get discounts on Live TV bundled with Broadband or less expensive services like YTTV and Hulu.
And do not forget the 60 Million Households that do not get Live TV but love streaming ( the under 35 crowd).
And before anyone makes the comment that the 60 million cannot afford Live TV, my son (32) makes roughly $80,000 a year (Computer Coding), Daughter (27) makes a tad over $40,000 ( 2nd year Teacher), they both can afford it, they just do not want it, happy with Netflix and the likes.
No truth to that.
That was from a News Story which said DirecTV wants to make a deal with the winner, also said this-
Still, it’s unclear whether the winning bidder would be interested in such a partnership. Building a commercial relationship may be enticing for Disney, Apple or Amazon, and the winner may want to be the direct contact for all Sunday Ticket subscribers.

This-
The 2021 NFL regular season averaged 17.1 million viewers (TV and Digital) – the highest regular-season average since 2015 and up more than 10% from 2020.

That is 15 million more then DirecTV NFLST Subscribers.
If they can just get 8 million of that 17 million, that is $2.4 Billion and don’t forget Advertising Revenue and Commercial Establishments.
People do move to different states, I am a example of that. Why would they if their team was on free tv?
Speaking for me personally, I dont have a team in particular I follow. I follow players. So the players I want to follow may not be on my local channels for free. Why would they if their team was on free tv?
