How can directv uplink channels when the new satellite is not supposed to be in its final orbital position till september 4th?? (my understanding is the satellite is still "moving" to its final orbit)

They aren't up linking channels yet. They are still in the testing mode. From what I have read, they could be broadcasting while the satellite is moving. It isn't enough movement to keep the signals from being received.
