Can you set up a client to operate in the ir mode is it faster to respond that way or ir or rf don't matter I guess I'm. Wondering if either one is faster at excepting commands

Generally speaking, ir is faster than rf.

Depends which client and which remote.. Now that the C41 clients and RC71 Remotes are being installed it makes a big difference.
The RC71's really should be run in RF mode if your running a C41 client and they CAN'T run in RF with a C31.. The other remotes cant run in RF mode with a C41...

I don't think the remotes make a difference. If one remote type worked better than the other we all would be using it.

The rc71 is only compatible with hr44 and c41 when in rf mode (possibly ir too, but im not sure on that). The algorithm or whatever that the 71s use is completely different.

Thanks for clearing that up Twizt, I thought it sounded confusing when I wrote it...
The RC71 is compatible with all receivers and clients in IR mode.
