DirecTV 36 x 18 dish for G10

Not sure if this has been tried/discussed or not. Has anyone tried out the 36x18 dish for G10 or any other non-DBS bird? I've heard good stories recently about elliptical dishes.

it should work. I've used a 36x20 DirecPC dish for IA8 & G10 before at the lake house. Dont remember the signal numbers but it worked

I used a dishnet superdish for IA5 for awhile, it worked fine.

I am thinking real seriously about buying a good linear LNB, maybe the extreme II, just to play with dishes and what you can expect to get on them. Especially since I have my main dishes set up now so I can see the whole arc with no gaps, I can play now...

So I guess the Star Choice dish I found in the garbage is a bit small at 33"X18" ?

Is that starchoice dish a 60E? I tried one about a year ago and it was ok on IA 5(g25 now), but was poor on g10r. It really depends on transponder power, higher power transponders work but lower powered ones are marginal or impossible to pick up.

The 60E is probably comparable to the Dish Network Superdish for linear sats. Still usable, though, especially if free

Yeah it's a bit small but I took it anyway.... I'll try it sometime.

The condo's for sale, moving to a house - for many reasons- but this hobby is one of them of course. May sounds silly for some people but... no.
