high 70's now but there's still heavy rain in the area so i can't get an accurate reading. to answer the question, i think it was only a few days before test channels popped up. i think we were suppose to have the test channels for, maybe, a week but the launch of new hd was postponed a week (for reasons i don't recall now).

There are real info taken from spectrum analyzer - you can see DTV lite up 2x8 transponders but all receivers allow to use only 14.

how many transponders are going to be used for LILHD? or is this sat strictly for national HD?!?

While D11 will provide both spotbeam locals and conus national channels, all of the transponders on 99c are conus transponders. The (c) in 99(c) stands for conus. The (s) in 99(s) stands for spot beams. This is for the HR2x receivers. 99(a) is the new satellite for the H2x receivers.

I checked the main index and guess what I saw? DirecTV forum-747 viewing. Dish Network forum-542 viewing.

The problem D* had with lighting up D10 was authorization issues within D*'s billing system. The test channels you mentioned didn't appear until after D* initially tried to turn on the channels on D10 and the authorization issues appeared. Once D* started fixing their billing problems, the test channels were created in order to have people try channels from various packages to see if they could get them with the packages that they were authorized to receive.

If not for these issues D10 would've been lit up about a week or so after D10 was parked and handed over to D*. I'd be shocked if we saw new channels tomorrow. However, I expect we will seem them on 7/30. Just in time to spoil E*'s new HD party. :D
