Some more info emerges about the DirecTIVO HD for the second half of 2009:

Two important updates to share:

First, DirecTV & Tivo will have a newsletter / email when developments are announced through the process of the HD Tivo's development. Click this link to join this list:

Second: Starting tomorrow....

Legacy Tivo receivers connected with a phone line will start getting a message on their next dial-home (phone line connected only).

It will then reside in the "Messages & Settings" section until auto deletion a month from now.

This message will confirm that these new Tivo HD DVRs will access 130 channels now available on DIRECTV in HD, will have access to DIRECTV on Demand, use Tivo's Universal Swivel Search and Tivo's KidZone.

Target is still second half of 2009.

My HR10 hasn't dialed in for a month and a half, but the message is on my machine.

I just picked up an old R10 for my small SDTV in the bedroom. I fotgot how much I loved tivo. Looking forward to a good mepg4 hd-dvr by Tivo.

What happens when this new TIVO comes out and has the same bugs that all the others have to go thru.
When the 1st D* Tivo's came out there were plenty of bugs as well, just like the HR series .....
How will you all feel then, is the GRASS always Greener on the other side ?
