We have a Direct TV Slimline Dish and having problems getting a signal, I have read a few different sites and they state that this type of dish requires a power supply... is that correct? If so does anyone know what type or which ones are the best to get for Tailgating.

Thanks in advance for the help!!!

well if you have the SWM3 or SWM5 LNB then yes, you would need the power inverter.
For tailgating get the non SWM model that requires no power at all.

All dishes need power supplies, usually the receiver provides the power for the LNB. What specific dish are you trying to use?

first off you need to know what kind of LNB you have.. is there ONE cable out the LNB or is there 4?

if its 4 cables then its powered by IRD

if its ONE cable, its powered by a Power Inserter. with a PI unplugged, it will lose signal on all recivers.
