Can I use the Direct TV Slimline dish, but put new LNB's on them to work with FTA?

Ok,
I bought a condo and it has a direct tv slimline dish on it.
I want to use FTA and DishNetwork...

Can I buy new LNB's for it like the DishNetwork 1000.2 lnbs and put it on there?
Will this work?

If not, why, and if i need a different LNB, which one would you say I need?

Or do I need to switch the dish out entirely? (Pain in the butt to do :/)

Your suggestions please :)
 
FTA or not FTA ? That is the Question.

Well, first, Dish Network and FTA are not synonymous.
If you want to subscribe to Dish, you'll need to replace the dish and LNBs.
That's the easy way.

If you were actually interested in FTA, here is a conversion for a DirecTV dish that would work for some of the stronger signals:
