I apologize for the I am not technical could I have a new 34 my other 34 it was not working Direct tv replaced it before I install the NEW 34 Genie some questions the score guide dose it show all scores not local team can not see where you work it in tv apps dose caller id need a phone line ?

Score guide works on any sports channel. Give it time to load up and in the bottom left corner it'll pop up and day press the red button to start the score guide. No local sports are available just professional level. The caller ID needs a phone to work. You'll need a tech run a phone line from a phone jack to the receiver to get the caller ID function to work

The new HD scoreboard needs more tweaking by the CE staff. There is not much you can do about it right now.

If the scorecard for the HR34 Genie is the same as the scorecard for the other DIRECTV HD DVR's/receivers,then the problem is with the scorecard,not your Genie. I have trouble getting the scorecard to come up,& when it does,it is either the old SD version or the new HD version. The new HD version still has a lot of problems that need to be worked out.

The problem IS NOT your Genie.

I think I see your problem with the scoreguide. You have to select AL, NL, or IL on the left. It defaults to IL where there is likely to be only one game. Just left arrow-over and change the league.

To change sports, do the same thing on the menu that first pops up.

I think this is a combination of many things. Just go to espn.com for score and wait a few weeks (months?) for all the bugs to be ironed out and for the Scoreguide interface to be the same to everyone.

Random freezing
Score guide loading
Not recording series's
Saying it recorded when it did not
Slow/sluggish guide and channel changing

The 44 at this point hasn't had any issues that's been brought up other than the recording issue. It'll say it recorded something and not show up when you select the recording

Now we're getting into what has been covered in your first thread. The 34 has issues, we all know it does. The 44 is newer, faster, smaller. People either love their 34 or hate it.

You must be patient,the problem is not the HR34,it is working out the software problems on the HR34. You'll be changing a HR34 a week if you don't just relax & let the software problems work themselves out.
