Sportman1,
Menu-Recordings-Manage Recordings-Record Defaults
Then if you move the cursor over "Episode Type" and hit Select, you'll have 3 options pop up.
First Run
Repeats and
Both
Select the one you want
Thanks Jimbo, I've been drinking and cooking since noon and couldn't even tell you how to do that, if it wasn't for autocorrect I'd be in trouble
Jimbo I am a disabled person here is what I have for default dvrhd34 genie set options for first run All episodes I do not see options for Repeats and
Both or No Repeats could you show me a screenshot of the set up for first run and No Repeats for the dvrhd34 genie please
yup. Any old settings are saved on existing series recordings so you will need to either erase all existing series and redo or change each one.I bet if you didn't have it set that way before now, you will have to update each program that you made previously on its own.
If there is no "first air date" it will record it as a precaution. I have one episode of Alaska State Troopers that records EVERY time it shows up in the guide because the first run date is dropped (it just says 2013). Also have a local wrestling show that is on twice a weekend and it records both because there is no air date.I will also mention this: despite the proper settings being selected, it will often record old episodes, seemingly at random. I don't know why. Mine has been set to "First run" since the first day I got my Genie, also HR34. The picture I posted before was me showing an specific programs settings, not the general default. Sorry if the other picture confused you.
