I want to know if the diplexer needs to be right behind the satellite reciever or can it be in a junction box in the gararge. Because I am losing satellite channels when I have the second diplexer hooked up in the junction box and not behind the reciever. When I run straight cable I get all of the channels.

Are we talking diplexing an antenna into a satellite setup?
If so, Diplexers work in pairs

-one by the antenna
-one at the receiver

There really isn’t a way to put it at a junction point…it would need to be at the receivers

Yes I have one diplexer outside where the cable and satellite are and I have one in the garage in a junction box where all my house cables meet. Then I have the satellite running to one room and the cable running to another room, from the second diplexer.
