So I'm reading where Digital Playground went neutral and will start releasing on Blu-ray. Name didn't sound familiar, so I was about to post here asking what movies they've put out. Then I thought, "Don't be lazy, google it."

True, it was big in the VHS/Beta war but I think most people just download instead of buying a tape or DVD. If that's the case, sales won't be a strong as they use to be.

Now, Vivid I've heard of. I thought most of the others stayed in business long enough to pump out a few and closed shop, reopening later under another name. Maybe those days are gone?

I really don't think this will make much difference in the "war." Porn will publish on whoever wins- they won't determine who wins, or even have much influence.

Yes, internet has definitely cut into DVD sales, but porn on disk is still a multi-billion dollar/year earner. In fact, porn in all its delivery vehicles is a bigger money maker than mainstream America cinema. This article that came out in the early stages of the format war gives an idea of porn's potential not-so-insignificant impact on HD video market:
