Had my D* upgrade today, had 2 separate orders, and installers, and each brought a different model HD DVR.

I got an HR21-700, and a HR20-700.

What is the difference? Will both connecxt to internet for On Demand services?

One was silver, one was black, put the silver one in the BR, kept the HR21 in the living room.

I saw the software up grade on one receiver, but not the second.

Anything to worry about or be concerned?

Thanks much

The biggest difference:

20 series has the built-in ATSC tuner

21 series does not have the built-in ATSC tuner (add-on device coming)

Yeah.. what the other guy said.. HR21 has no OTA capabilities. When I got my HD DVR I requested a HR20.. now I have my antenna hooked up to it and I'm happier than a pig in mud.

You should network everything so you can share content to your DVRs from you computer.

Appreciate the feed back, and yup, networking is my next project.

D* installers didn't want to deal with cable, wouldn't diplex, to a single cable, and didn't know anything about SWM, or install without a second cable, so we buried one in the yard.... Now, I'm moving router and cable modem to network these things.

Thanks much

No diplexing with the new 5 lnb set up, you'll be better off to just run a seperate line for the OTA , or wait for the SWM set up.

You can diplex with the 5 LNB, but you have to do so AFTER the B-band converter.

I doubt that D* would do a set up like you are mentioning, I perfer to keep it simple for the person posting the question.

The BEST way is to run a seperate line for your OTA antenna signal.

What would be the point?

You might be able to run additional lines into an attic but then have issues with more lines to the rooms, you could put the BBC in the attic which keeps it out of the weather. So far no problems with mine in the attic.

I could hear you squealing from my house! I was wondering what that was!:D:D
