True....

So you don't think i was being too ummm "rude" which I wasn't trying to be btw...

Naw, I'd say you were.....entertaining! :D Hey, I'm not going to be too harsh on a fellow Connecticuter, or whatever the hell we are called! :D:D

Oops! The thread at dbstalk got locked. I wonder for how long?

It is locked because D12 is fubared. The mods who say its fine are trying to reduce the fallout.

The announcement D12 has issues should come this week (speculation on my part).

Hope we find out this week.

My suspicion is that D12 is viable but not in the way that Directv intended it to be. And if it means they can't make their PPV movie scheme work and are compelled to add HD nationals instead then YIPPIE. :D

They have a particular culture over there which some people seem to like. I dont think its healthy or beneficial to the average directv customer, existing or prospective and I dont think its healthy for directv. Seems fun if you're part of the 'clique' and dont mind getting harangued by a couple of young IT guys with god complexes playing board moderator while working their day jobs.

Directv invited me once to participate in a private forum where their heads of marketing and engineering talked to us directly. 99% of the rest of the guys were the core clique from dbstalk. They basically told them what they wanted to hear, which is that everything works great, there are no problems, etc.

That private area (its not on dbstalk, directv hosts it directly on their web site) is probably where the dbstalk guys get their inside info, btw.

In the meanwhile, back on topic, I hope that directv works out the kinks and the satellite works. Otherwise I'm going to be out a lot of money buying a couple of tivo's and getting the cable hooked back up. Plus when I stucco'd the house I went right over the dish mounts. The good news is that they'll never move. The bad news is they're not removable...

Weirdos! You deep fry hotdogs and steam cheeseburgers!

The deep fried hotdogs are kinda good though. ;)

Are you talking about Blackie's hot dogs? ;) (yes, that's my wagon!)

Unless you work for Directv, and I doubt you do, you have absolutely no clue what, if anything, is wrong with D12. JMHO, of course.

Nice ride!

Yeah, thats one of the perpetrators. I used to work in Farmington a million years ago. Everyone around there boiled the hot dogs in oil and steamed the burgers in those little metal ash trays. Funny how so many common food items are so similar from one side of the country to the other, but CT has some really unusual twists on them that you dont really see anywhere else.

Yeah, we're just a little different around here, just ask Scott!;)

Yeah being over taxed under payed makes some of us strange lol.

But I wouldn't want it any diff love my job

Hmmm

So what doing you think is wrong with directv what could they be testing.

My technical knowledge is way too limited to have an intelligent answer for you. It could be lots of different things I suppose.

yep. E* is adding more today. D* better get on it already!
Yep , But thats ok though, Because just like everyother time E* adds 8 channels the count goes up 40.
All that does is offend their own customers who know better.

Thats what I'm sick of.

E* has a great HD line up ,Great price,Great equipment.
But all that disappears just as fast as it appears.

heck, i predict my cable company will be adding more hd before dtv. they have already added 8 new channels this year. and i'm sure there is more to come.
