Not an important channel to me. Thankfully E* has never dropped a channel that meant anything to me in the last 4 years.
I respectfully disagree. Your point about the PR spin is well taken, but as for placing blame, one thing is undisputed - CourtTV pulled the plug, NOT Dish. This is an important fact since most of the negative posts on this subject have assumed Dish dumped CourtTV.
What we don't know is how long the negotiations have been going on. If they started a couple of weeks ago, bad on Turner. But if they've been going on for months can you really blame Turner for not pulling the plug? It comes back to only Turner and Echostar know for sure what's been going on and it's in their interest to make the other party be the bad boy.
Earlier this evening I saw a Court TV commercial on TBS that slammed Dish Network.WOW big news on CNN just now Court TV had a commercial about DISh network customer not having Court TV any more.
I'm surprised to hear of someone who does NOT like Court TV. Like any channel, they have some programming I am not interested in but they have excellent scientific forensic documentaries. It's not all about shows like COPS and/or trials, there are some great in-depth news coverage I haven't seen on other channels. I'm sorry to hear you didn't like it but don't assume we all feel the same way because I miss it and hope it returns very soon!
"Sources indicated that months of talks were aborted just two hours before the channel was pulled".
When discussing a la carte this is what I was featruring.. Courrt tv is a niche channel that few people watch but has a strong following among those who do watch. It is this example that I used when advocating a la carte. I reiterate my position. If one wishes to watch a channel such as Court tv by all means do so..But don't don't make me subsidize it..Do people actually watch CourtTv? I've never met anyone who does.

Looks like I will return the favor and drop DISH!!!
I agree...just wish the FCC and the "Industry" felt that way. While I am a sports enthusiast, there are millions of customers being forced to pay Big $$$ for the ESPN channels when they don't even watch sports. That's an even bigger rip-off in my opinion. While it may indeed be difficult to financially support the A la Carte model, I would love for programmers, cable and satellite providers to offer us more flexible choices...a combination of more programming packs, programming groups, and additional a la carte options. Again, why should someone pay for ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN Classic, ESPN News, Etc. when they don't even watch sports? Give customer more options to strip unwanted programming from their lineup. Personally, I would be willing to pay just as much, if not more, for the programming I want just to see the "fluff" channels disappear from the airwaves. When discussing a la carte this is what I was featruring..
