Could I get a bit more locked in?

So using a 76cm motorized setup with a geosat 3500 receiver and swinging from 87 to 125 and getting LPB HD at 40 pct quality and the PBS HD's on 125 at mid 30's and in the middle getting the NBC HD's on 103 at high 40's and pics coming in perfect no glitching on any of the channels mentioned. I am getting Rueturs on 113 at around 20 pct but no glitching either, perfect pic. I am doing this on a 76cm dish. Does is look to you guys like I am in the Arc as good as I can get? I was getting low at first on 125 but slightly moved the whole motor and dish bracket slightly to the west and locked it down. Now good. Anyone think I can get better with a 76cm? Remember the geosat has a low tuner and it picks up channels as low as 5 pct quality and tunes them in.

It is strange but my lnb has to have something to prop and hold it up to get max signal! Right now I have a rock, yes a rock wedged under it to hold it up to get the signal, if I take it out my signal goes down 20 plus pct! I guess I can find an alternative to the rock to pry under it.


Another thing I am hitting the western arc from 87 to 125 right now, my south satellite is 85, is there anything feeds wise east of 87? I should be abe to go as far east as 45 I think since I am locked in 40 degrees west and all the way up from my south sat. It just seems a shame to waste the entire other side of the arc! Lol. I tried looking on lyngsat but cant find much out that way! I remember back in the day getting 83,78, and 72, the old AMC 6 for feeds.

Sure. Also i have my lnb lined up at 0 on the bracket on the dish itself but it looks a little tilted and not perfectly centered on the dish arm

I am looking to get a 1 meter or at worst a 36". I figure If I can lock in all these with a 76cm a 36" or 1 meter will get everything. I would grab a 1.2 meter, but am afraid of setting it up then having motor issues.

Right, that motor you have is not designed for the load of a 1.2M. Eventually, you will want to set a fixed dish on some bird, that is your most favorite. That is when you go for the 1.2M.

Well its been a while but since I am getting all the birds as of now from 87 to 125 including hd ones locked in shouldnt all my up or down tuning adjustments effect them all the same? I know when i was hitting one end high and the other low it is just a matter of turning the whole motor bracket a hair towards the low end Direction, but now I am getting both ends I can pick up or push down on the dish to check better quality and if i am at 87 and it is better to move up a hair on the dish elevation it should also improve the end sat by doing so? Right? Reason I ask is I was can hit 87 a bit better than I am now as well as the 99 bird.

I mean everything is coming in fine on all the sats, however the signal quality is all finicky. Maybe it is the geosat 3500 and its signal bar, but I am hitting LPB now at around 35 pct and perfect picture, on 95 the CCTV are at low to mid 80's, on the 97 bird I have university channel around 50 pct, infowars on 99 in the mid 30's, the nbc hds fluctuates alot from 25 to 50! And daystar on 123 in the high 70's and pbs hd's in the low 30's on 125. Like I said everything is locked picture Wise, no fuzz or specs, so if anyone else has this same receiver maybe they can let me know if I should do any adjustments. Keep in mind I have a 76cm. I am just not used to the low lock signals with other receivers in past. Signals showing 9 pct are locking in on here.

The 3500 quality bar is pretty much useless, mine would read the same as yours is, lower on some sats and normal on others, in comparison to other receivers I have.

Example, my 3500 might show 35 Q on a certain transponder but then if I'd hook up my MicroHd, it would read 80 Q on the same transponder without changing or adjusting anything. So don't pay any attention to how high or low the Q level is on the 3500, just adjust for the highest you can get.
