I was wondering if there is any way to move the antenna positioner motor one step at a time for fine-tuning antenna position? I have the motor moving to satellites but I think I could get a bit better signal if once the motor moves to position – I moved it left and right (one step at a time) to fine tune the position. I looked through the manual but can’t seem to be able to find anything related to fine motor movements in there.

Any help would be much appreciated. If I’m missing something in the manual – please do let me know.

Thank you,
Michael

If this is the case then something is wrong with your elevation / declination / azmuth etc. It could even be that you weren't exact enough in your 'antenna position' lat/long setting.

If you want to try manually setting where say echostar 7 is (I had to because my D* LNB is to the left of Ku LNB which is at the 'main' LNB position), Go into motorized settings and change DiSEqC motor from USALS to '1.2'. A field will appear right below it called 'move'. When on that field left or right on the remote swings the dish east / west. It remembers where you set the dish when you save.

No question about it! I think my problem is that the center of the antenna is not lined up EXACTLY with the center of the motor pole. Both the motor pole and the antenna mount have holes that are supposed to make such alignment a no-brainer (I put a screw supplied with the antenna though the hole; that's supposed to center the dish on the motor). Everything looks great until I tighten up all the screws. When I do tighten the screws - I think the dish shifts a bit to the left (when looking from behind the dish). Frankly - I don't really care if I have to nudge the dish a step left or right to get the signal - as long as it comes in ;-)

So thank you very much for the info - this is EXACTLY what I was looking for. Since the receiver will remember the new position and then move the motor accordingly next time - as long as I'm able to get the channels I'm after - I don't really care that much that my set up is not done correctly.

Thanks,
Michael
