coolsat 7100 or the pansat 3500sd

looking into my 2nd receiver got it down to coolsat 7100 or the pansat 3500sd. Both about the same price .... Would like to here from you guys whats you think??????

The difference off the top of my head is the 7100 has PVR capabilities, the 3500 does not

What is it that each has that you like?
Obviously, one special feature of the Pansat 3500sd is not being used...

Which other receivers have you considered and discounted? Why? Price?

Have you found any reviews of these receivers or ones you've marked off your list?


On my short list of receivers to consider, you've picked one. -
They are:
- Pansat 3500sd, for its corotor control and generally good features.
- Visionsat IV-200, reviewed here on site (add a hard drive for PVR)
Now at reduced prices:
- Mercury II, real work horse, even better at new price point
- Traxis 3500, a little older but recently updated to compete
All do blind scan, as that is a must.

My first box is a ViewSat Ultra. I like this but i want to test something new .I'm looking at tuning in!!! not pvr but the pvr is a plus... Also installing 2nd dish 30in ku band in about 2 weeks so I will working with 4 sat's
Guys I read and surfed my a** off today and I'm going with the The Sonicveiw 360 Premier

The Visionsat IV200 and Coolsat 7100 are basically the same hardware, very similar boxes. They even use the same channel list editor, which is still broken

Other than that problem, I have a Visionsat IV200, and love it!
