Confused about satellites.

Hello all,

I am confused about what dish I will need to have. I received an email from customer service today saying that HD channels are on sat 118.7, and that I would need to have a Dish 500+ installed to get these stations (plus sats. 110 and 119). My understanding is that the HD channels are on sat 129, is this not correct? Also my understanding is that I would need a 1000.2 dish installed. Now I guess I could just see if they could install a 1000+ and then get all four sats, but I like the idea of having DPP without the added hardware. Can anyone tell me which sats I would need to have access to?

National HD channels come in from either 129 or 61.5 (depending on your location & available line of sight) To know where your local HD channels come from (or if they are even available) we would need to know where you live.

You've been given some serious misinformation.

It is possible that Des Moines will eventually get their HD LIL from 118.75W, but the national HD content will come from 129W using a Dish1000+
