I have some composite monster cables (red, yellow, blue cable-it just says sv1 video, and sheilded audio) they are pretty good, is there any reason i can't use them to hook them up my dvd to my tv in place of a composite cable? They have the correct connectors, so I plugged them in to the y,pb,pr from the DVD to the TV, I really couldn't see a difference in picture quality? Would I be hurting my equipment with this choice?? I just hate to spend 25$ on a new cable if i don't need it.

it won't hurt your equipment, but if it's a progressive scan DVD player and your connecting it to a HD TV you need to make sure it's the the progreassive scan setting. If your TV is not HD, your DVD player should be in the interlaced setting.

If you see no difference then all is fine. The vido portion of the cabble is 75ohm while the audio is not. Technically you should use 3 75ohm cables . BUT if it looks good no worries..
