Compatible Hard Drive 622

Hello there just wondering if anyone found any other compatible internal
hard drives besides the ones below i have exhausted all resources on the net for the 622.
Every place seems to be sold out.. These are the major 4 seen on the 622 units..

Unit is not under warranty so might as well see if i can salvage it..

Any of the 722-compatible 500GB drives should also work for more space.

Im far from a newb and knwo what the search button is.. I have been reading for 2 days..Hence why i said i have exausted all my resources.. The drives listed above are not remotley available anymore. Thats why im loooking for an alternative...

OK, thick hint - get my post with a picture of 500 GB from 622HZ.
Look at Dishmod group and do find a message with same model, in that exactly post you'll see other 500 GB models and whole set of compatible HDDs for 622/722/622HZ.

OK, if you didn't want to research by yourself, or give up then I found something interesting to try - ST3500830SCE (approved), I've see it in Internet stores.

The disk is not compatible with 622/722, it must have "- 57" designation.

Do you know what difference that designation is or means?

It means whether it works or not.

I already tried one of those from newegg and it definitely does NOT work in a 622. Works fine though in an EHD enclosure.

Yes, it is OEM disk by Dish specs, one of then disable spinup after power is on.

Update seagate worked like a champ slipped it in and reformated it self, at first it only recognized it as 320 then when it dl the guide it gave the full 500 gb...
50hd and 350sd..
SPanks guys especially smith you da man.. Saved my 622 from the recycle bin heeeee.

If you trying to replace the internal Hard Drive in the VIP-622 or VIP-722 it will not work. Even if it is the same hard drive.

um, obviously the post right above yours proves what you just said to be incorrect.

just upgraded mine with the seagate drive. now except for black color and decoder chip, I have a 722. Almost double the internal space is nice.

after install, it booted twice, then came up and said the drive was corrupted (duh, nothing there yet) and it needed to erase it. Pushed ok and a few minutes later it was done. Just had to rebuild the timers and restore some stuff from the EHD. Better than new.
