I think when 922 will be out Dish will include in that approved list 1 TB [WD] disk(s).Apparently the Seagate ST3500830SCE 500gb is discontinued and I can't seem to find one anywhere. Does anyone know if there is a new version? My 722 Harddrive appears to be slowly dying and I would like to try a harddrive swap before I fork over another 400 bucks or so for a new 722.
OK, if you didn't want to research by yourself, or give up then I found something interesting to try - ST3500830SCE (approved), I've see it in Internet stores.
Are you saying that the release of ViP922s, a completely new platform, would cause an update in the approved list for ViP622/ViP722 architecture?I think when 922 will be out Dish will include in that approved list 1 TB [WD] disk(s).

I run Linux (when needed). Yes, both boxes are Linux based. But there is a lot more to it then that. The GUI between them is entirely different. They will not be running sourcing the same download.
Time will tell.
Post#56 !The replacement drives for ViP 622/722 have all but dried up. Anyone have a source for one that is under $100?
"But I did pick up the 320 GB ST3500830SCE" - it is 500 GB disk !
