Comments from a newbie to FTA

Some more musings: unused Hughesnet dishes are 'aplenty in my area, stopped by near my Dads at a house w/ one on a tripod mount (w/o LNB clued me that it was unused), the people wanted rid of it so I got another Ku dish for free, this time w/ a nice tripod mount! I set it up Saturday on 99W, blind scanned and witnessed my first wild feed! Got to see the reporter touching up makeup and other interesting stuff.
I also have been reading about low SR audio feeds, and since there's several "out there", I thought "What the heck?", I'll try to manually enter some of these low symbol feeds (<1000 k), and it worked! I put in a feed w/ a symbol of <400 and it locked on the GT media v9. It wasn't stable, and my dish is 36", but I was able to receive it until the wind blew (dish currently jury rigged on a pole, will be setting on a more permanent/stable pole in the future, the other dish is on a pallet so semi-permanent). It needed to be spot on to not dropout, but that was kinda cool. Obviously won't blindscan in, but interesting nonetheless. The lnb in use was Geosatpro PLL Standard type.

Fascinating. I haven't tried this on my GTMedia V7 S5X. cyberham have you tried it?

Using my Edision, I'm not having any luck finding low SR tps even using your list. I wonder if those entries are still active. I know the Edision with current driver can see down to at least SR 1000.

Looks like I can go down to SR 300 on my receiver. No signals yet..

The Edision won't tune lower than 1000. You need an SDR or PC tuner card. That's why I was wondering how he was able to tune SR of 400 with his GTMedia V9.
el bandido says:
"The Loooooong blindscan time is because the modded T2MI drivers are looking for symbol rates down to around 300. The Non-T2MI driver is looking for symbol rates to around 1000, with 833 I think is the lowest I ever recorded with Non-T2MI drivers."

So I'm going to re-install the T2MI driver and see what I can find. I've used it before, and seen sub-1000 SRs, but the blind scan times were so long I replaced it with the non-T2MI driver.

Just because you can configure a sub-1000 SR in the GT Media doesn't necessarily mean it can scan one in. As I mentioned, I can't get my V7S5X to even scan in the SR 1250 tp on 87W.

#27 is the exact TP I entered manually. It's a little flaky, idk if its dish alignment or the signal being so narrow or both. The 3 ch mux does come in and lock for a min or so at a time (~60% quality). Cyberham, hopefully that answers your question. (If I'm being vague I'm new and so unsure of how discreet I need to be outside of WUT)

Seems that the stronger signals in the evening help the TP I've gotten manually entered in. Sometimes it takes a second to lock and produce audio, but it'll stay there awhile, it was locked >30 mins yesterday evening I know. Zilch in the mornings before work. I might look into an Edision LNB, they look a bit more stable than the Geosatpro I'm using, which is pretty stable itself, and work on improving signal too.

Just to make sure I'm on the same page, it's on 99 KU and the frequency is 12027 V 360?

Is 360 the lowest SR you've locked?
Yes, that I've tried. The others at 370, <360, etc would not lock, maybe they're weaker or maybe it was the time of day I tried. I haven't retried the others since I first posted about it. There's an audio feed at 1075 SR that locks reliably, it actually blind scanned in. I haven't seen anything blind scan at less than 1000 SR I'm pretty sure.
