Another Update.

Did it by hand. My back was killing me, as well as my arms, shoulders, etc.... LOL

The installation tech called me, said he didn't have all the equipment in the warehouse. Cripes, I ordered the stuff 11/17 and the 1st tech that came out for the line of sight survey had all of my stuff. The tech said, "well I got this install through the grapevine". Also his work order only called to install a hddvr receiver and I told him it was suppose to be a hddvr receiver and an additional hd receiver, thats what I paid for! He told me I could have the hddvr receiver installed today and that I should order another hd receiver and put it in myself. After talking with a supervisor from Direct TV, I finally rescheduled for next Saturday. What incompetence. Don't installation techs check this stuff out before hand? I am so pissed right now.

A good technician will check, for sure. Sometimes they are just screwed by what the warehouse has or in this case doesn't have.

Should of just cancelled the HD box on the tech's workorder, ran out to best buy and bought one while he did the dish and had him install it for you.

Give him 20$ if he has to run a new line (because he's doing extra work for you),or if it's already there, ask him what you have to do to get it turned on. Just my 2 cents.

Update

Direct TV installed today at last. Installation was done very well, and the tech was extremely helpful, courteous, and on time with all the right equipment. Thanks to all for the tips and advice.

Merry Christmas,
Bryan
