Cleveland Ohio area Channel 19 pixelation

Once the transition takes place, the stations will no longer be able to run at half power, maybe that will help your channel 19, or maybe they just don't have the power needed to send thier signal out, but you would think that it would be fixed when the transition takes place, when all stations are required to be at a usable power level.

19 will probably still be the worst for OTA reception. The are already on their post-transition assignment: Ch 10. I think they are currently at a weak 3.5kw. They will be going to 10.3kw. For comparison, 2 channels down on 8 (WJW will be moving back to the old analogue 8) will use 30kw.

How much power are the current ones that are working fine at ?

WJW will be the next lowest at 30kw. However, comparisons aren't the most valid as different frequencies propagate differently.

Here's the assignments:
Call Letters, Network, analogue channel, current digital channel, post transition digital channel, antenna elevation, power
WKYC DT NBC 03 02 17 1007' 868. kW
WEWS DT ABC 05 15 15 1017' 1000 kW
WJW- DT FOX 08 31 08 1122' 30.0 kW
WDLI DT TBN 17 39 39 958.' 200. kW
WOIO DT CBS 19 10 10 1184' 10.3 kW
WVPX DT ION 23 59 23 987.' 1000 kW
WVIZ DT PBS 25 26 26 1105' 150. kW
WUAB DT MyN 43 28 28 1105' 200. kW
WEAO DT PBS 49 50 50 1000' 250. kW
WBNX DT CW- 55 30 30 1168' 1000 kW
WQHS DT UNI 61 48 48 1095' 525. kW

Can anyone call or email them and find out what the AFTER transition power is scheduled to be ...
Or is there other ways to find this ?
Any websites that tell you this type of stuff ?

10.3 kw IS the post transition power. They are currently licensed at 3.5kW for digital.

TV Query Results -- Video Division (FCC) USA

rabbitears.info is a good source for info (where I found the above link).

WOW...
That's really low.
Is this an independant ?
That may explain this, I don't think they have the same restrictions as the Big Boys
Also, thanks for the link !

My thanks to HDRoberts for the numbers verifying my claim that the CH 19 signal sucks, and that they are just blowing smoke when blaming others for the problem. I really feel for those who rely on OTA for their CBS programming. They have no idea what they are in for.

Here we go with the scramble and taking hits during a playoff game. This sad sad sad.
You are right Fayrich.

Well well well. I am looking at the Ravens vs Titans playoff game right now. Not one blip, pixelation, distortion, or drop out?!? And we had about 8 inches of snow dropped on us here in Cleveland! And no issues as of right now. hmmmmm Something fishy is going on. Oh maybe they fixed it. Hope I didnt speak to soon.
We'll see.

Haven't seen any bitching about ch 19 lately. Does this mean that they have finally done something to improve their signal? In my case, I have been receiving it for the last couple of weeks or so with my OTA set-up here in N. Ridgeville. Was even able to completely record the Tom Selleck 2 hour movie last night. Having said that, it will probably be gone today.

I can only speak for thursday night, it was flawless during survivor for me, But then I have been in the hospital with my wife and new son for the weekend, sO I cant say for sure on the rest of the time.
