Class Action Lawsuit against Dish for Dropping Voom?

If you find a lawyer willing to take the case on spec, I'll sign on as a plaintiff.

Otherwise, I'll just continue to call and complain to CSR's. That costs Dish more money than the the $10/month extra I pay anyway! :p

Do consider this, 265 people have responded to this thread while 6,304 hits on its contents.

It's obviously a very controversial and passionate topic to all parties concerned.

I'm not going to stoop down to a level of communication that's so obviously relished by some.

One would wish we could respect one another's opinions without insult.

Upgrading from a ViP211 to an 722

I just contacted Dish regarding upgrading my 211 to a 722. I was told it had to be a professional installation because there are wire changes. Has anyone else heard this before? And if so, what is it? Sounds to me like they just want to charge me more.

This discussion belongs in the "ViP211 to ViP 722 Upgrade" string... one floor up... but since you asked...

It's an age old story. When I upgraded, I refused to let the installer touch my equipment.

My argument to Dish and the installer, why are you so insistent on wasting money or overcharging for the upgrade, if I'm capable? Such needless hassle. Granted, the average Joe doesn't know how to check switches, etc. But when you make it clear, why cant they get the message? How much does an installer get paid to swap a box? When it fails they don't seem to have a problem, then? Go figure!??

Field techs won't even tweak the antenna correctly. I stood there and told him what I wanted until he did his job. Wouldn't sign the release until it was done right.

265 is the amout of posts, Not people! 55184 is the amount of times the thread was view. Keeping in mind, myself included have viewed 20-30 times a piece, with out posting. And the same people have posted several times.

Oops! I cut and pasted from the wrong string, "Boom.." stats, and you're right, they're not individual hits, as we've been here and there countless times...

Thanks for the head's up!

That said, still a hot topic. Run Forest, Run!!!

Corrected the post...

Here's one for you too, Nascar has a much bigger fan base then VOOM ever did.:p

So what's the argument here? Numbers aren't the point. Quality and quantity of car racing maybe are. So if you enjoy auto racing Worldsport and Rush had auto racing and the events you couldn't find anywhere else on American television.

Or reverse your analogy. More people watch soccer worldwide than Football. Kill the NFL network for more soccer channels?

If you like sports bring on more.

If a company promotes itself and its products as the leader or having the most of a given thing but they reduce instead of add, those that defend them are just gullible misguided consumers at best.

BTW More people buy Ford and Chevy. Must mean Hemi's suck and no room for them in market place.------not

Strech-o-vision = Toon, Food, HGTV, Biography, A&E, History, TBS and TNT.

Actually, Food and HGTV are the only ones still doing "Stretch-O-Vision" (which we recently found out is actually called "Flex-View".) Turner stopped. I'm not sure A&E ever did it.

Sure, they still stretch, but it's a step in the right direction.

I know I am very mad about the voom loss but we cant go at each other over it. Lets get mad at Voom and Dish instead.
