Cinemax for 1 year for .01 w/ autopay/paperless billing

What's even worse is that HBO shows a new movie lets say on a Saturday in November, then the next month Cinemax shows it as a new movie on it's Saturday night premiere. HBO and Cinemax used to have 4-5 new movies each month, now they have maybe 2-3 with the rest just going from HBO to MAX and MAX to HBO month to month vice versa. It's a total scam. Guess they don't have enough new movies to premier every month like they used to so they pull this crap!

There's a lot of garbage in the theaters too. In all seriousness I watch a lot more from my Starz Super Pak and HDNet Movies than HBO. But I do like HBO Comedy.

Showtime is worthless, to the point that they try to give people the world to sign up. I'm on the Do Not Call list now with Dish because they'd call 4 times a year to get me to take it.

Hopefully we'll see all of these channels in HD when they add the new sats. In the meantime it could be worse though, like my cable company with like 10-20 channels of HD.

It didn't activate in about an hour for me, so I went back into Live Chat and they activated it. They said it was a technical issue. No problem after that though.

Sweet i had the 4 movie packs but canceled them in june and i qualified for this. The girl who helped me was the nicest person i have ever had spoken to from dish. She asked how i could help i told her i heard of a cinemax penny deal and she was like ok ill get you set up. She knew everything about the promo and told me the terms about keeping auto pay and paperless up and i am signed up till jan 2010 for 1c a year  I spent like 1 min from time i dialed dish to speak to her then i spoke to her for about 3 1/2 min she set me up so fast it was like we had sex lol ok j/k on that part :D Best deal a 4:53 phone call can get you lol yea my cell phone shows call time.

P.S thanks to OP for bringing this news here as i would never have seen it on that other site.

Cinemax used to be cool, now they just repeat as bad as HBO.

Man, now you're bitching about a movie channel that cost .02 for 2 years. Don't sign up if you don't want it. Geez!

I was just tols 1c per year till jan 2010 for me as long as i keep paperless and auto which i had auto pay already this is a no brainer.
People will still bitch and whine if you give them a new car if it had the wrong color paint so as long as you who sign up are happy who cares if its reruns best 1c reruns ever.:D

Be careful

I tried to sign up on internet chat...Said I qualified but couldn't sign up on chat because of security issues with credit card over chat. I then called CSR, she told me I did not qualify because I already have starz and HBO. I hung up and called tech support. He said I qualified but that I had to pay my current bill at that time even though I hadn't got it in the mail yet, and that there would be a $5.00 charge for paying over phone. I did got signed up for Max. Today I look at my bank statement online and find that he doubled charged my card. Called CSR tonight told it will take 10 days to get refund...

What at company....

Bill

The on-line chat worked for me here with no problems. I've been CCAP and Paperless Billing for years now, so I got two pennies from my son's piggy bank and treated the family to two years of Cinemax. Thanks to hdhead and SatelliteGuys.US for breaking the news, and DishNetwork for bringing us this great deal!

I just got off the phone with a CSR in the USA. I was told you can keep the deal as long as you stay on CC auto pay and paperless billing. I had paper less billing but not cc autopay. I am on the 250 with HD and asked what if I downgrade my package and she said it would not affect the Cinemax deal. You must stay on paperless & auto pay. Channels were turned on before I hung up the phone, and it is all the Max channels not just the main Cinemax east. Great deal even if your not that trilled with all the content. Nick. :)

I give up maybe- here's my chat with dish

You have been connected to (03) Diana B.
(03) Diana B: Welcome to Dish Network. How may I help you today?
Roger : Hi Diana, i want to sign up for cinemax for a penny
(03) Diana B: That's great!
(03) Diana B: I will be glad to help you with it.
(03) Diana B: You must sign up for AutoPay with statement suppression (Paperless Billing).
Roger : I already have autopay and paperless but my autopay is through my checking and i guess we have to switch to CC
(03) Diana B: Okay.
(03) Diana B: If a customer has either AutoPay or Paperless Billing, but not both, they can still qualify if they sign up for both.
(03) Diana B: You must not currently have Cinemax, or have had it in the last 6 months.
Roger : I don't cinemax- and i will switch from checking to cerdit card
(03) Diana B: I see that you have Cinemax on the account.
Roger : No I don't- I did try to sign up for cinemax for a penny but they said i had to switch to CC. I'll check to see if it's been turned on just a second
(03) Diana B: Sure.
Roger : No cinemax here
(03) Diana B: I see that you have Cinemax on the account.
Roger : Weird- i tried to sign up a couple of days ago but when told i had to switch to CC autopay i said I would get back later
(03) Diana B: Okay.
(03) Diana B: However, as I see it now on the account you have Cinemax.
Roger LeBlanc: My acct on your web site doesnt show cinemax
Roger LeBlanc: under a la carte or add ons i see no cinemax
(03) Diana B: I am sorry for the inconvenience caused.
(03) Diana B: However, you have Cinemax on the account.
Roger : at what cost am i getting cinemax? that i'm not getting
(03) Diana B: I sere that you have Cinemax and HBO on the account.
(03) Diana B: Cinemax and HBO together are just for $22.000 per month.
(03) Diana B: However, Cinemax will cost you only $12.99 per month.
Roger I had cinemax about 2 years ago or when i first switched to dish but right now when i go to a cinemax channel its shows I have to subscribe-- what can we do? I certainly dont want to pay for cinemax and my last bill just got paid without a cinemax charge - so whats going on
(03) Diana B: I apologize for the inconvenience caused.
(03) Diana B: However, as the account shows Cinemax and you are unable to view Cinemax channels, I would request you to call us at 1-800-333-3474 so that the account specialist will help you with it.
Roger : Great- someone on your ends screws up and i have to do the work and no one will believe me so now i wont get cinemax for a penny -. Can you drop cinemax from the acct- which doesnt show on my acct page
(03) Diana B: I am sorry to hear that.
(03) Diana B: However, I will remove Cinemax from the account.
(03) Diana B: Please give me 2 minutes while I remove Cinemax from the account.
Roger : thanks
(03) Diana B: You are welcome.
edit: she came back after i thought we were done and said the reason it showed cinemax showed up on my acct is because i already had it for a penny. meanwhile i had called dish and the guy quickly said he would sign me up for a penny- 1 minute after getting off the phone with him I had cinemax but no one ever took a credit card number from me? I could never understand why they neede a CC for autopay when my acct shows autopay. We'll see what happens next bill.

The people on the phone are more likely to be able to fix your problem than the online people. The online people are good for if things go smoothly though.

wow. ive had 2 people call me from Dish and offer Starz and Showtime in a similar offer. 2 years for 2 pennies. well, both show up full charge on my bill. im going to call tomorrow to get this straightened out, but it sure seems like a scam to me.

I'm not so sure it's a scam.. It actually shows up as a Penny Offer in my "At a Glance" page on My Account now. It's possible some CSRs are not coding this properly or there is a fluke though. A scam generally means the offering doesn't exist. It must exist, since several of us have it.

This offer is a great deal. Cinemax for .01 per year till 2010. You just need to agree to the terms, credit card autopay and paperless billing. No scam. Thanks guys for the information on this deal.
